Effective date: October 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information DMV Practice Pro collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the DMV Practice Pro app for iOS and Android and to the website at dmvpracticepro.com (together, the "Service").
The Service is provided by Trovyn Tech LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we", "us", "our").
The short version
•
You can use DMV Practice Pro without an account. Your practice progress is then saved only on your device.
•
An account is optional. If you create one, we store your email address and your progress so it can sync between your devices.
•
Purchases in the app are made through Apple or Google; purchases on the website are processed by Stripe. We never see your full card or bank details.
•
We do not show ads, we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
•
We do not use third-party analytics at launch.
•
You can delete your account in the app at any time, or ask us by email.
Information we collect
If you use the Service without an account
•
Practice progress. Your answers, scores, chosen state, language and settings are stored on your device (in the app's storage or your browser's local storage). This data stays on your device. We do not receive it.
•
Approximate region. To suggest your state, the Service asks a small endpoint on our hosting provider, Cloudflare, for your approximate location. Cloudflare works this out from your IP address and tells us only your country and state/region. We use it once to make the suggestion and do not store it. You can always change the state yourself.
•
Purchase information. If you buy something without an account, our purchase provider, RevenueCat, assigns a random app user ID so your purchase can be recognized and restored. See "Purchases" below.
If you create an optional account
•
Email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code and to contact you about your account.
•
Sign in with Google, Facebook or Apple. If you choose one of these, we receive the basic details they share with us, usually your email address, a unique account identifier and, if you allow it, your name. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we receive a private relay address instead of your real email.
•
Synced progress, such as your answers, scores, chosen state, language and settings, so you can pick up on another device.
•
Purchase status, so we can unlock what you bought on all your devices and on the website.
We do not ask for or store passwords.
When you contact us
If you email us (for example, to report a mistake in a question or to ask for help), we receive your email address and anything you choose to include in your message.
Technical information
Like any online service, our hosting and service providers automatically process technical data such as IP address, device and browser type, and request times in order to deliver the Service and keep it secure. We do not use this data to build profiles about you.
How we use information
We use information only to:
•
provide the Service, including saving and syncing your progress;
•
sign you in and keep your account secure;
•
process and restore purchases and unlock paid content;
•
answer your messages and fix reported mistakes;
•
prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the Service working; and
What we do not do
•
We do not show advertising.
•
We do not sell personal information.
•
We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising.
•
We do not use third-party analytics or tracking tools at launch.

Purchases
In the app, payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google. On the website, card payments are processed by Stripe through our purchase provider, RevenueCat. We never receive your full payment card or bank details. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made (such as the product, date and a transaction identifier) so we can unlock it. Purchases are one-time, not subscriptions.
How long we keep information
•
On-device progress stays on your device until you delete the app, clear your browser data or reset it.
•
Account data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your account data within 30 days. Copies in routine backups are removed within a further 30 days.
•
Purchase records may be kept longer where we need them for tax, accounting, fraud prevention or legal reasons. Apple, Google and Stripe keep their own records of your purchases.
•
Support emails are kept as long as needed to help you and then deleted.
Deleting your account and data
•
In the app: open Profile → Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and synced progress.
•
By email: write to support@dmvpracticepro.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete your data. We will confirm when it's done.
•
Data on your device: delete the app, or clear your browser's site data for dmvpracticepro.com.
Deleting your account does not cancel or refund past purchases. You can usually restore an in-app purchase on a device with the same Apple or Google account using Restore purchases. Unlocking paid content on the website requires an account.
Children and teens
Many people preparing for a learner's permit are teenagers, and DMV Practice Pro is designed to be suitable for users aged 15 to 17 as well as adults.
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. In line with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), if we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please contact us at support@dmvpracticepro.com.
If you are under 18, please review this policy with a parent or guardian. You can use the Service without an account, in which case your progress stays on your device. Purchases by minors are subject to Apple's and Google's family and parental controls. We do not sell the personal information of anyone, including users under 16.
Your privacy rights
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you live in California, you have the right to:
•
Know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and to get a copy of it;
•
Delete personal information we hold about you;
•
Correct inaccurate personal information;
•
Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share it);
•
Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would require this); and
•
Not be discriminated against for using these rights.
In the last 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information, for the purposes described above: identifiers (such as email address, account and app user IDs, IP address); commercial information (purchase records); internet or other electronic activity (in-app progress and technical request data); and approximate geolocation (country and state/region, used once and not stored). We disclose these only to the service providers listed above for business purposes. We have not sold or shared personal information.
Residents of other U.S. states
Residents of Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Oregon and other states with consumer privacy laws may have similar rights, including to access, correct, delete and get a portable copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale and certain profiling. We do not do any of those last three. We honor these requests for all users, wherever they live in the U.S.
How to make a request
Email support@dmvpracticepro.com. To protect your account, we will verify your request, usually by confirming the email address on your account. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your signed permission. We respond within 45 days. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with "Appeal" in the subject line; we will answer within the time required by your state's law. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state attorney general.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
Because we do not sell or share personal information or use tracking for advertising, there is nothing to opt out of. We nonetheless treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out request.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls with our providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Where information is processed
We are based in the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Wherever it is processed, we protect it as described in this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will let you know in the app or on the website before they take effect. The effective date at the top shows when it was last updated.
